CosmoJu's News

Posted by CosmoJu - August 9th, 2022

It has come to my attention that SOMEBODY has been spamming one of my galleries in another website (I can't say where for fear of attracting even more spammers).

Since whoever has been harassing me with unwanted spam and troll comments refuses to cease their activity, I'm going to halt my drawing activities indefinitely until further notice.

In other words, NO MORE NEW COMICS FOR THIS SUMMER AND THIS EARLY FALL!

The next posting will last time I post anything Soviet History related, as I had officially ran out of interesting political sketches to copy. For those who are well educated on Baldaev's art, I am not willing to do parodies of his tattoos, as they are considered bodily works of art that should be appreciated for their originality and significance in the Russian gulag gang culture.

For my next project, I would be doing remakes of a popular adult Dutch comic series, though I had not figured out which characters I should do. My mind right now is doing fanart of popular OCs credited to famous Newsgrounds artists online, though my own OCs also do come into mind as well.

I will be taking a long hiatus break from the "Sobieto" series to focus on another art series project.

If I can get 10 happy faces on this post (which I probably won't), I might reveal what i had in store in this website

As of now, all of my favourite pages from Danzing Baldaev’s “Drawings of the Gulag” had been re-illustrated. However, there are still a few more pictures I want to redraw. Those illustrations are still made by the same original artist, but are now from the book “Soviets”, which featured a series of sketches that couldn’t make it to his previous book, due to its graphic, racist and/or ideological nature.

The new set of reimagined illustrations would be less raunchy and explicit, though its content will be more humorous and satirical than my previous works. Expect more drawings and historical posts from me in the near future this spring.

GLORY TO THE WORKING CLASS!

I’m going to take a break from drawing until the beginning of spring; the next few art pieces will involve the great outdoors….for exploitative lumbering!

This new artpiece depicting the horrors of the gulag ships may be one of my biggest achievements for this gallery yet

So far, I haven't been hunted down by the moderators, but I had seen progress in view count on my first few illustrations. Though the ratings has not been marked up yet, I'm looking forward to at most an average rating to a few drawings.

Hopefully, there'll be some interesting commenting questions from viewers who will grow a keen interest in Soviet history.

As of now, my first round of artpieces will revolve around the sketches made by Danzig Baldaev (1925-2005), a former prison guard who secretly drew sketches of the realities within Soviet society (including life in the gulags), based off conversations and interviews he had with gulag criminals, political prisoners and other prison guard comrades.
